Fever to NMDA: Fever and irritability are most commonly due to infections. If infections, injury, tumors have been considered and a spinal tap and testing have brought your doctors to a diagnosis of NMDA encephalitis, then IVIG and steroids would be appropriate treatment for that diagnosis.
