Silent Reflux: Greetings. Silent reflux or Laryngopharyngoreflux is a condition where a chemical called "pepcin" refluxes back into the throat and voice box area. Pepcin is a digestive enzyme that acts to break down protein so when it gets to the laryngeal region it does just that. This takes place over time until it becomes bothersome.
