Silent Reflux: Greetings. Silent reflux or Laryngopharyngoreflux is a condition where a chemical called "pepcin" refluxes back into the throat and voice box area. Pepcin is a digestive enzyme that acts to break down protein so when it gets to the laryngeal region it does just that. This takes place over time until it becomes bothersome. See your ENT Doctor who can view this region with a special scope then treat
