Rare: Not, however, unusual. I had a patient with 9. Just yesterday I saw a patient with 5. See an Oral Surgeon for advice.

Uncommon: An adult dentition with 32 teeth, 16 teeth in the upper jaw and 16 in the lower jaw is considered the normal number. Having extra teeth or tooth like structures in either jaw can occur. A panoramic radiograph and/or cone beam CT allowing visualization of the entire upper and lower jaws can help confirm how many teeth are present and their location in the jaw(s).

Low but possible: Low but possible. I have patients with 8 wisdom teeth. For best results, see an oral surgeon for wisdom teeth
