Healing takes time: With certain illnesses, such as ear infections and strep throat, painful discomfort can last awhile. You did not mention what she was on cefdinir for, so I am guessing about the illness. If it was pneumonia, there could be some pleurisy, or pain in the lining for the lungs. Changing to Tylenol (acetaminophen) won't make a difference. Try applying warmth to the area of the pain.
