My 4 yo has been mentioning a head ache for 4 days with no fever until tonight. her temp is 103.6. i gave her motrin and tylenol (acetaminophen) her temp is still 103?

Most common reason that Motrin and Tylenol fail to work is improper dosing! Motrin (=ibuprofen = Advil) should be given at 10 mg/kg/dose every 8 hours. Tylenol (=acetaminophen =paracetamol) should be given at 10 to 15 mg/kg/dose every 4 hours. If given appropriately they almost always work. Nevertheless your child should be examined for the cause of his fever which is frequently a viral infection

totally agree with Dr Gordon about the need to give a correct dose before judging failure of treatment with fever reducing meds, and can alternate either medicine every 4 hours, till you see her doctor,
