Rashes : Rashes can be tricky to diagnose - especially if you can't see it!. If your child isn't feeling well or has a fever and develops a rash, your best bet is to call your child's doctor. They may be able to figure it out by asking a series of questions, but most likely they will need to see your child in order to figure out what is going on. Reasons to go to the emergency room are: -purple rash -a rash that does not "blanch" or turn white when you push on it with your finger -a painful rash -high fever (104f) always, when in doubt, get it checked out! legal disclaimer: I am providing this general and basic information as a public service and my response to this question does not constitute a doctor-patient relationship.
