A member asked:

If i'm on antibiotics for a mrsa infection how likely is it that it will move to other places on body or bloodstream?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If it is the correct: treatment for appropriate duration of time (key aspect of treatment of MRSA!) then you should not get satellite infections or transmission to bloodstream. MRSA is difficult to treat because it generally requires the correct antibiotic that the MRSA is sensitive to, and a longer duration of treatment. For skin infections, typically 10 to 14 days and internal infections, 14-21 days.
