Cramping: See an urgent care or primary doctor today for testing to find out the cause of your pain. Usually cramping pain can be treated with Alleve or ibuprofen and a warmth such as a heating pad. Pelvic cramping with vaginal bleeding can be an emergency, and you would need to go to the ER.

Normal: The endometrial biopsy procedure will cause you to have cramping and/or bleeding for a few days. The catheter used to obtain the specimen disrupts your endometrial lining. It's very temporary. You can take Tylenol (Acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen over the counter for the pain as long as you don't have other medical conditions that make those contraindicated. Fibroid tumors are rarely cancerous.
