More information: A cholesterol that high is not good but it's more important to consider the HDL/triglyceride ratio. As that goes over 3 the risk of developing cardiovascular disease is greatly increased. It's also worth getting another test called NMR lipid panel. Whatever those results it's always important to start with changing your diet to reduce risk. Eat real food and avoid carbs - especially sweet drinks
