Yes: Degeneration of the joints can cause discomfort as well as excessive weight and possibly a disease called Morton's neuroma. Please see your health care provider for further evaluation and treatment

The Weight...: There are a whole lot of things to consider with your condition, namely metatarsalgia. The excess weight could be responsible, in part, but excessive time on your feet, improper shoes, type of work, foot function and foot type are part of the mix also. If unchecked, there is the possibility of developing other problems such as stress fractures, heel pain, ankle and even knee pain.
