Hypothryroid: Treatment is based on laboratory confirmation of the dose of medication the patient is prescribed. Therefore, if your TSH is in the correct range on 500 mcg and your symptoms are controlled then you are on the correct dose.

For an endocrinologist: Significant weight gain in past two years. Had my Plasma PTH tested. Result 100 pg/ml. TSH is 1.93. Dr prescribed levothyroxine 150 mcg. Signs of PCOS too. Why was I given high thyroid med dose since tsh is normal?
