Not very high: Levothyroxin is used for hypothyroidism . The dose depends on your level of thyroid dysfunction. We usually check the dose within the first year of therapy every 2-3 months depending on how the patient is doing. Once you are stabilized you could be tested once or twice per year.

Modest dose: That is a modest dose for an adult with hypothyroidism. Doses vary from patient to patient, and thus so does the need to check dose. A minimum would be once a year, but when initiating treatment, if weight changes significantly, if adding other medications, etc - all these things could alter your needed dose. Best to confer with your doctor/endocrinologist to find the perfect dose for you.
