Hello! i'm trying to find the source of my high bp. i recently went down in my effexor (venlafaxine) xr dose. but i'm also on levothyroxine 50 mcg and nuva ring. ?

Time: Give it a few days, if your BP is still high, then it is likely not due to effexor (venlafaxine). Also, in my clinical experience, if Effexor (venlafaxine) is going to increase blood pressure, it will do so when you first start the medication, and your BP won't increase after being on it for weeks or months, and is likely due to another cause. You should talk with your pcp and/or your psychiatrist about it as well.

Blood Pressure: BP increases by ~10% in some and not all Effexor cases. It is more so with the non xr that xr forms. I have not seen any study done on the xr. If switch to pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) make sure you keep checking BP too. No stadard what do next. On the long run i would rather switch to another medications instead of taking blood pressure meds. Keep checking your BP regardless.
