A member asked:

Can a cancerous lump stay the same size for say 4 years? i've read about encapsulation but don't know if that stops the growth of a tumor

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on: a lot of things, but if the lump/mass is truly malignant/cancerous, it is rare that it does not grow at all for 4 years. Encapsulation is not really relevant to growth of a malignant tumor, although it might have something to do with its metastatic potential.
