Obgyn follow up: The Obgyn surgeon who did your D and C is going to have the best ability to manage this problem. At age 48 some irregular bleeding is common as one approached perimenopause. Medications such as birth control pills can be used for cycle regulation. The Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD can be used to minimize cycles. Endometrial ablation is a great surgical option for some.
