Went to er last night with pain in left lower abdomen.dr said it was colitis. been feeling tired and runnin low fever. it hurts bad now. what can i do?

Causes of colitis: Inflammation (infection, ischemic, ibd) of large intestine = colitis. For ibd: ulcerative colitis primarily involves the lining of the large intestine whereas crohn's is transmural (full thickness involvement by) inflammation of any part of the GI tract (from mouth to anus). Both involve similar pathways of inflammation, are similarly treated, increase risk of colon cancer, & may require surgery.
