I had surgery 4 weeks ago for cancer on the floor of the mouth. how long does it normally take for the tongue swelling to go down-not seeing much yet?

Continue to observe: Hi Anne, Depending on how much tissue was removed and whether or not you had a primary closure or skin graft the healing process can be rather quick or may take a few weeks. If the surgery was for a malignancy, this means that your surgeon likely had to remove margins ( normal tissue) around the cancerous cells and this would then lead to more postop swelling and healing time.
