Not likely: While people who receive certain chemotherapy agents can have a metallic taste in their mouths as a result, if you do not already have cancer, then a metallic taste is far more likely to be related to benign causes... Dry mouth, diet, acid reflux, or many others. If it persists and is bothersome check with your primary care doctor.

Not likely: There are many reasons for metallic taste, including side effect of some medications, poor oral hygiene, heavy metal poisoning, iodine intake and more. It would be prudent to discuss the matter with your doctor for a history, physical examination and may be some lab tests, however, cancer is unlikely.
