Heel pain: Usually a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon is the physician that treats heel pain. One of the more common causes of heel pain is plantar fasciitis; stretches, bracing, cortisone shots are the nonoperative things we try to get people better with that. Many people with plantar fasciitis will have a plantar bone spur seen on X-ray.

Podiatry/Orthopedic: Plantar fasciitis is the most likely diagnosis. This is often treated with stretching, heel cups, and anti-inflammatory medications.
