is it safe to clean your retainers with a colgate soft total advanced whitening toothbrush? would the whitening harm the retainer?

No toothpaste: Brush retainers on removal and just before reinsertion with a soft toothbrush, no toothpaste. All toothpastes, especially whitening toothpastes, are slightly abrasive and can scratch acrylic. Place into denture cleaner (Polident, Efferdent) daily.

Denture cleaner has been known to discolor the retainer wires. There is a product called Retainer Brite that you can get online. No, I own no stock :)
