Age of partner?: Depending on the age, how long he or she has it if aware, does it move while tried, any other lumps anywhere in the scalp or any other part of body. It could be innocent harmless one or it could be something bad needing immediate attention. Things like a cyst called sebaceous cyst coming from a hair follicle, dermoid cyst all are harmless .This like a lymph node,cancerous tumors are possibilities

Lump on back of head: For how long? did it change in size?, and is painless. Requires an MRI, interpretation, how is the hair on top of the mass? Probably is a benign mass, however the input and examination, even a biopsy may be required. I cannot touch or feel it. A neurosurgeon should do the examination.
