Is it risky for someone with multiple sclerosis to be around someone who recovered from mrsa within the last 5 months?

No: There is no specific immune defect for those with MS making them more susceptible to infection. If the MRSA has been eradicated, there is no reason not to be around that person since nearly anyone can contract MRSA given the right circumstances.

VARIABLE RISKS: The MS itself does not usually cause an infection risk without compromise of specific areas, such as increased risk of urinary tract infections, or demise from pneumonia. Bigger issue involves our potent medications which may suppress the immune system. Recovery from MRSA appears to provide no problem, as unlikely residual infectivity.
