A member asked:

I was diagnosed with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) over a year ago. after about 7 months of not experiencing any flare up symptoms, i've been in a flare up for the past 1.5 weeks. how long do flare ups last? and what can be done to ease pain?

A scleroderma patient has to be under the care of a rheumatologist for best up to date testing&treatment. By a flare, are you referring to symptoms affecting your fingers? I don't think anyone can predict how long a flare will last or whether it'll subside without adjusting treatment. Some patients state their flares can last days, weeks or months. Some realize that stress, sun, seasons cause flare
