Viral infection?: Good morning, sore mouth, itchy throat, and dry cough suggest a viral infection which involves the lining mucus membrane of respiratory system - upper and lower airway. Swelling of lymph glands of the area is associated with the process of our immune system trying to fight the virus - often rhino and adenoviruses. Symptomatic relief can be achieved by gargling with warm salt water, and ibuprofen.

Lymph nodes swollen: The lumps under your chin are probably lymph nodes which are used by your body to help fight infection. You should see your primary care doctor for an evaluation. These all could amount to a viral infection or strep throat or other. Your primary care doctor can evaluated you and perform the necessary tests/cultures, etc.
