May not be asthma: I am assuming that since you have a "puffer" you already may have asthma. However, a persistent cough like you describe may be something else. You may want to look into GERD (gastroesophegeal reflux disease). This occurs when acid from the stomach is passed upwards into the throat which can cause a burning but also a cough. Any obstruction can be tested with a spirometer. Good Luck
