A member asked:

What's the difference between synovitis & florid synovitis in both wrists?there's tendosynovitis of the exterior tendon compartment - left de quervain

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Florid-means severe: florid synovitis means severe synovitis.that's all. Synovium is the inner lining of the tendons and the joint spaces .When it gets inflamed it causes swelling and pain of the involved tendons and joints. When the extensor tendon of the thumb is involved it is called De quervain's syndrome. Analgesics like ibuprofen(motrin), warm compresses, hand elevation, physical therapy help. see orthopedician
