A member asked:

Why i only get the heart palpitations at night time or while in bed laying down ? is this is the case with all cardiac patients?

Palpitations: It may be that you are only aware of the palpitations when lying down or at night because you are not distracted by other sights or noises around you. You probably get the same palpitations during the day, but don't notice them because you are distracted by the other things going on around you.

Palpitations: When your heartbeat feels unusual & rapid, we call that palpitations. If you have chest discomfort, shortness of breath, lightheadedness or fainting with the palpitations, that's worrisome. It is common to be more aware of cardiac sensations when not distracted by daily activities, and sometimes certain positions make them more noticeable.
