Other options: If there is any fever or rapid breathing or poor feeding with the mucous I would see your doctor. You might also ask a doctor or nurse to show you some of the tricks to use to suck out mucous from the nose and it is also helpful to use saline drops to dissolve the mucous before using the bulb suction.
