Worry about BP: Viagra (sildenafil) causes vasodilation i.e. Dilation of blood vessels that could decrease bp. It is important to avoid taking medications that could decrease BP (like nitrates) since these medicines could cause serious hypotension if used with viagra (sildenafil). Independent of low BP effect, viagra (sildenafil) should not be a risk to the kidneys.

Kidney and viagra (sildenafil): Drugs that treat erectile dysfunction can be used in all patients with any stage of chronic kidney disease (ckd), including those on dialysis. If you have ckd, that is not a reason preventing you from using these drugs. The only thing that prevents you from taking them is if you are allergic to them or your being on nitrates for coronary artery disease. See you nephrologist for more information.
