Colitis: Symptoms are consistent with an inflammatory process involving the colon. The colitis with bleeding is best evaluated by a gastroenterologist who will most likely perform a gentle sigmoidoscopy without any preparation because of fear of further irritating the colon. This may reveal ulcerative colitis or simply a nonspecific colitis with bleeding. You should consult a gastroenterologist asap.
