Slow healing: Hamstrings heal slowly. Have you experienced significant bruising? You will be uncomfortable and limpling with a torn hamstring probably for six weeks. It will get better. Meanwhile try ibuprofen at 400-600 mg at a time up to 3 times per day for the pain.

Need ultrasound: You have probably torn your hamstring. Most muscle injuries are strain injuries where you pull the muscle when you stretch too far too fast. Full or partial thickness tears take longer to heal and are more painful. An ultrasound will determine what the injury is but you will probably benefit from physiotherapy if conservative measures arent working.
