EVERYBODY passes: gas, on average, 20+ times a day. Some people are more sensitive to the smell. But if you are truly passing gas every minute it may mean that you have an allergy, especially to lactose: milk, cheese, yogurt. Of course, flatulence is caused by too much air in your gastrointestinal tract. I've no idea why being in a room would trigger more gas passage. Time for an talk/evaluation with your Doctor.
