What happens if i use tap water in a nettipot? i have before does this put me at risk for something? i do have sinus problems.

Yes: There was a case report that a young woman got infected with an amoeba from the tap water used to irrigate her sinuses. Although this occurrence must be extremely rare, the common practice is to used distilled water or boiled tap water (after cooling off) for sinus or nasal irrigation.
