Possibilities: If you feel fine otherwise and there is no sudden change in function (if you had some sort of orthopedic surgery) or no sudden change in appearance (as in a new hernia, which would present as a bulge), and no change in the surgical incision itself (which I would not check yourself if still covered up without contacting the surgeon first), it was most likely minor scar tissue breaking up.
