A pinched: nerve (at C4-C5) in your neck may cause pain in that area! Try applying heat to the back of your neck and IBUPROFEN (Over the Counter) and if no relief in a week see your PCP for evaluation, possible C-spine MRI.... Hope this is helpful! Dr Z

Stenosis of the neck had neck pain. Doctor did cat scan or MRI not sure which one. Scan showed 3 of the disks wirh severe stenosis the others mild. Scan was sent to neurosugeon. He said he could not operate, gave no reason. Was told to see pain doctor.
