I had thyroid ct scan, everything was normal. had labs today for upcoming app. & doctor ordered lymphoma blood test. any reason why if scan was normal?

Unrelated diseases: Hi. The lymphoma blood test (flow cytometry, I assume) looks for a monoclonal white cell population. A CT of the thyroid (not a standard or ideal test for thyroid evaluation) looks for anatomical abnormalities of the thyroid. Thyroid anatomical abnormalities and lymphoma are distinct conditions with the very rare exception of thyroid lymphoma. Have you had a needle biopsy of your thyroid?
