Tapering of benzos: It is not difficult. However it should be discussed with your prescribing physician.

Keep going lower: Detoxification from benzodiazepines works best by lowering and lowering the dose. Withdrawal symptoms and anxiety may set it. See an addiction medicine specialist or even some family doctors, internists and psychiatrists who can guide you better through the process. Good luck. Hard to to, but not impossible.

Withdrawal : Withdrawal depends on the amount of the drug, the length of use, your psychological dependence on the drug. But, i applaud you for choosing health and trying to get off of this addictive drug.

Depends: It depends upon the length of time one has used a sedative. In general, halving the dose every 7-14 days might be appropriate. One should be monitored by ones physician during this process.
