See psychiatrist: You need to see your psychiatrist and get consulting and medication for your depression. Do call right away - the longer you wait the harder it will be to treat

Profesnl. you trust: Courtney, depression and anxiety all too often travel hand-in-hand - and trigger one another. Your recognition of your challenges is an understated step in healing. You won't find consensus around any one single best therapy (med or not) - it may take trialing one or more to find the best good fit. The *best* thing is to find a health professional with whom you are comfortable with treatment.

As a suggestion...: start with eval by a primary care provider. There are medical conditions that produce depression/anxiety symptoms. The weight loss is concerning and would benefit from evaluation in the context of overall health. If physical factors r not an issue, consultation with a psychiatrist or psychologist is appropriate. If more guidance is needed consider consulting a HealthTap provider. Be well.

Dep/anx treatment: The issues you identify sound consistent with a significant issue that can be addressed. No one treatment fits all people but it is generally known that a combination of talk therapy and medication is better than either alone for Depression and typically talk therapy is best place to start for anxiety. In terms of meds, your PCP may feel comfortable prescribing if hard to find a psych MD or NP

Depression: First get a physical examination to find out if you are ill. If you are OK then it would be good to consult with a clinical psychologist to get help. There are also medicines that can help along with psychotherapy and a psychiatrist can help you with choosing the right one.
