I'm deciding between a root canal and an implant, any recommendations ?

Depends on diagnosis: If the tooth in question has plenty of good solid tooth structure still in tact then root canal therapy along with a crown is the treatment of choice. If there is any doubt that the tooth is comprised with gross decay or a fracture line that is down into the root structure then extraction, implant and crown are indicated.

Save your tooth: If the tooth is strong and treatable, treat it. If it fails in the future, you can always place the implant.
