Depends: This depends if it was just the heart rate or if the EKG wave forms changed or if the rhythm became erratic or not. It is not uncommon for the rate (beats per second) to increase when you get out of bed or out of a chair. If you are in the hospital, ask your Dr to look at the monitor with you to verify if everything is normal! It only takes a few seconds to make sure everything is ok!
