IUD's usually do not: "Bleeding after sex" is not likely to be due to the presence of an intrauterine device inside your uterus or to its strings in your cervical canal. A pelvic sonogram or an XRay to localize your "missing coil" would be valuable as well as Gyn reevaluation of your cervix, uterus and endometrial cavity to determine the cause of your postcoital bleeding.
