If you had an: Ultrasound your OB doc should have explained possible reasons, which could be a blood clot behind the placenta called a retro-placental hematoma , or you may be bleeding from an early placenta previa either way your doc should have told u to rest and no intercourse or strenuous activity until the bleeding has totally stopped and your doc has given u the ok to resume activity, please call your doc!
