A member asked:

What are the side effects of bing given an expired tuberculosis test? the site of the injection has become red, aches and is getting a bit larger.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should be none: Show it to the person who applied the skin test or to your doctor. A positive TB test can occur even if the test is outdated (dating of drugs and things like skin tests no more scientific than dating for foods). A positive test is NOT redness but firm swelling to the touch. If it is firm, raised and tender it may well be positive. See your doctor or health provider asap.
