Have a kind of hard, painless bump right side of mouth, in front of uvula (basically soft palate). i see the dentist in 2 weeks but am worried.

Soft palate: How large is the bump? How long has it been present? Are you a smoker? Have you had any trauma in his area? It is impossible to make a diagnosis without seeing and examining the bump. These are some of he questions your dentist will need to know. If you are concerned try to,see your dentist sooner than two weeks.

Firm or soft: the dentist will evaluate, but if firm it could be extra bone in the palatal area which would possibly only need treatment if you needed to be fitted for a full upper denture

How long: has it been there? Did it just come about or has it just started to bother you? The soft palate is one of the more frequent sites for oral cancer so get this check ASAP.
