Diabetes.: Eating sugar doesn't cause diabetes when you wouldn't get it otherwise. Most cases of diabetes are genetically derived. But in someone who is prone to diabetes, eating more sugar will make that predisposition more evident clinically, such as in blood work. Being overweight will have the same effect.
