A member asked:

Does insulin resistance lead to kidney disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: It is not Insulin resistance that causes kidney disease but instead poorly controlled diabetes. The most common causes of kidney failure in the us are diabetes, high blood pressure, and age. Many patients with Insulin resistance have difficult to control diabetes and thus are more likely to be poorly controlled and therefore more likely to develop kidney disease.
