No: Insulin is made by the pancreas. The pancreas also secretes fluid and enzymes into the intestines that help you digest food. The kidneys regulate the salt and water levels in your body, and help get rid of certain waste products.

Could: If you are in poor control because of renal disease the hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia associated with poor control can decrease the Insulin producing islet cells from making enough insulin. Talk to your doctor.
