Do you only have the symptoms of diabetes (peeing often, drinking often etc.) if you have high blood sugar?

Not always: New onset diabetes can present with the classic symptoms of increased thirst, urination and weight loss despite increased appetite, although this does not always happen, especially in new type 2 diabetics. The blood sugar value is usually significantly high to see these symptoms, but the actual value varies by individual, some patients might exhibit symptoms at a lower value than others.
