A member asked:

Would high blood sugar make your muscles stiff?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stiff muscles: And cramps are most likely do to excess levels of lactic acid, from anaerobic (non-oxygen) dependent metabolism. Diabetes results in inadequate sugar transport intracellualrly if proper transport does not result from lack of insulin. So, it's not the blood sugar itself, but the intracellular blood sugar that allows for aerobic metabolism.
