Tinnitus: Tinnitus or "ringing" or "buzzing" in the ears are common symptoms which can be short lived or chronic. It is associated with hearing loss. Sudden onset tinnitus can occur in patients with noise exposure or ear infections. If symptoms persist or worsen over 3 or more weeks, it is recommended to see your doctor for an evaluation. In the absence of vertigo Meniere's is less likely.
